It took extra time before Barna minors prevailed in the West Board A Minor League final on Sunday in the Prairie.

The Galway minor footballers took themselves, their families, their management team and their supporters on a roller-coaster ride last Sunday afternoon in one of the most astonishing games of Gaelic football you will ever see at inter-county level.

The Galway minor footballers are in action this Sunday (1.30pm) in the 2010 All-Ireland semi-final at Croke Park where they face a fancied Cork side.

The Galway minor footballers are in action in Hyde Park next Saturday at 2pm against the Leinster champions, Longford, in the All-Ireland quarter-final.

Travelling down the Curragh line on Sunday morning to McHale Park for the Connacht minor final, it was difficult to anticipate anything except a Mayo victory. Their third in a row since Galway’s last win back in 2007.
